Fado no Porto is a tribute to traditional fado and to Portuguese cooking, in a vaulted stone room hidden in the heart of the city, next to São Bento station.
We are not a restaurant that sometimes has music. We are a fado house where you also eat well, and the difference shows across the whole night: the fado is not a forty-minute set at the end of the meal, it is sung from beginning to end, every night of the year.
We give the stage to the voices keeping this heritage alive and to those arriving now. We announce no line-up and no names: each night has its own fadista, and the surprise is part of what you come here for. Anyone who comes back never hears the same night twice.
At the table, real Portuguese cooking, made for a night without a clock. Nobody asks for the room back. You stay while there is fado and appetite for it.
