When there is fado

Every night, without exception

The house opens at 16:00, every day, and from that hour on it serves drinks, with no booking. Dinner starts at 19:00. We do not close on Sunday, and we are the only fado house in Porto that can say so. There are two shows a night, each with its own arrival times, and the night has no set finishing time.

  1. First part 19:45

    Arrive between 19:00 and 19:45. The fado starts around 19:45 and sings through dinner, from the first course to the last.

  2. Second part 22:00

    For late diners. Arrive at 21:45 or 22:00, and from then on the night has no closing time: you stay while there is fado and appetite for it.

How to get here

Two minutes from São Bento

R. da Madeira is in the Baixa, the historic centre of Porto, running parallel to São Bento station. Whether you arrive by train, by metro or on foot through the centre, you are a few minutes from the door.

  • By train São Bento station, right next door.
  • By metro São Bento station, a two-minute walk.
  • On foot From Avenida dos Aliados or the Cathedral, a few minutes through the historic centre.
  • By car The street is narrow and the centre has restricted traffic. We recommend one of the car parks nearby.
