The show: €15 per person
The show costs the same at both sessions and on every night of the year, Sunday included. It is charged per person, on top of what you eat and drink.
It is not a short set at the end of the meal: the fado sings through the whole dinner, with the fadista and the musicians on Portuguese guitar and viola. See what the fado night is like.
Dinner: from the menu or a set menu
On the menu, starters go from €3 to €20, soups from €7 to €11, fish from €23 to €30, meat from €25 to €31, vegetarian dishes from €10 to €25 and desserts from €6 to €12.
If you would rather not choose dish by dish, there are two set menus: Descobrimentos, at €50 per person, and Fado, at €70. They are for a minimum of two at the table, and the wine pairing adds €25 per person. See the full menu with prices.
A worked example for two
Two people with the Descobrimentos menu and the show pay €130, before drinks. With the Fado menu, €170. Dining from the menu, you pay for what you choose, plus €15 per person for the fado.
For just a drink there is no need to book: the house opens at 16:00 and serves drinks from then on. Dinner with fado is always by reservation.
Questions about prices
- Does the fado show include dinner?
- No. The show is €15 per person and dinner is paid separately, from the menu or as one of the two set menus.
- Is there free fado in Porto?
- In a fado house, the fado is paid for: it is live music, sung through the whole night by people who make their living from it. Here it is €15 per person, the same price on every night of the year.
- How much is a group dinner with fado?
- It depends on the number of people and what you choose. Group and company dinners are arranged by phone or WhatsApp, and whoever answers knows what the room has free that night.
- Can I come just for a drink?
- You can. The house opens at 16:00 and serves drinks from then on, with no booking. Dinner and fado start later, and dinner is by reservation.
